Between the center of Amsterdam and Amsterdam-Southeast is a remarkable area that is seen as a fault zone in the structures of Amsterdam. An environmental vision has been drawn up with a circular idea. This environmental vision consists of four ambitions, namely: urbanization of the north-south axes, a combination of living and working, a good quality of public space and quality of stay on the water. Based on this environmental vision, the district that offered the most potential to meet the ambitions and additional requirements was chosen, namely Diemen-Zuid. The analysis of this location has resulted in eight building blocks that form the basis of the desired quality in Diemen-South. The largest and most interesting intervention concerns the deepening of the Gooiseweg (S112) in order to connect Diemen-South with Duivendrecht.
